“What can I say about Rob Pankhurst!


We first met on a casual night out with friends, and I told him that I was getting married in 3 months time and I wanted to drop a weight so I would look good on my wedding day! Vain I know!


The package Rob offered me combined working out with him 3 times a week, and a very detailed nutritional plan to accompany it. Over the previous 6 months I had worked on developing my weightlifting, focusing on a bodybuilding style of training, and my biggest fear was that Rob would turn round to me and tell me all we were going to do was run! And at 20 stone, I am not built for running (On a side note – Rob did help me train to complete my 1st 5k run in 32 minutes!)


The most impressive thing about first sitting down with Rob is that he took my interest in body building onboard, and ensured that throughout our workouts there was always an element of this in there. Not only did he include large parts of this, but he introduced me to Crossfit style training, which I now love! This blend of styles gave me exposure to new techniques and workouts I previously hadn’t tried, Deadlifts, Clean and Jerks and the dreaded Squats!


Throughout my time with him, I developed confidence in myself and my abilities, I pushed through a lot of boundaries I had, and I re-found the joy that I had previously lost in working out. And for that I will be forever grateful to him! In addition I also lost a stone in weight and took 4 inches off my waist!


The most important thing to know about Rob is he is a great guy, he guides and pushes you to your limits without pressure and fear! He takes time to explain why you are doing things instead of just telling you to do them, he helps you set achievable goals, and most importantly he leads by example. Many times when we were training Rob would do the same workout with me, to model good technique and help push me on!


We recently found out that I have an issue with my squatting technique, and instead of pushing me through the exercise with bad form, Rob went away and found the cause of the problem, and created new exercises to help me improve in that area, this initiative and willingness to help and improve is outstanding and sets him apart from the other trainers here in the region.


I would have no doubt in my mind to recommend Rob to anyone looking to get fit, or to fulfill any other goals you may have.”

“Rob has trained me for the last year and a half both in a group environment and as a PT client. I chose Rob to train me as he has a really nice way about him, encouraging and pushing me but also understanding of my circumstances and frustration. I have only ever had one melt down (sprinting and hill runs in the snow) and he was really good at adapting the session on the spot. Having trained since I was a teenager (now in my mid-forties) …I am very clear about what I like / need and what I am good at. Rob is very good at working within this and allowing you to enjoy your training while getting results. It was great to get to a place with my training where Rob would try and break me in sessions and I would enjoy it instead of getting down hearted. Work colleagues have commented on my physique and improved fitness.

As I enjoyed Rob’s bootcamp style sessions I asked him if he would run one at my workplace. So for the last 12 months we have been training with Rob once a week. He is great at training a variety of fitness levels and ages and ensuring that everyone works at their own pace whilst striving for more. We really enjoy the team events where everyone has a chance to shine and we can encourage one another.

On a lighter note Rob is very easy going and doesn’t mind bad language…it’s my only outlet.”

After initially being a little hesitant to get into something I knew would be very tolling on my postnatal body, I was immensely relieved to find Rob was trained in dealing with post-natal mums. He made sure that I didn’t do anything that would jeopardise my bodys natural recovery whilst ensuring I saw some effects from the training I was doing.
